Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Password (hashed and encrypted)
  • Name (optional)
  • Account creation date

Usage & Content Data

When you use Eulogize This, we collect:

  • Eulogy subjects and content (what you create)
  • Selected eulogy styles
  • Timestamps of eulogy generation
  • Whether eulogies are shared or deleted
  • User tier and subscription status

Payment Information

For paid subscriptions, we collect:

  • Billing address
  • Payment method type (processed by Stripe, we do not store card numbers)
  • Transaction history
  • Subscription status and renewal dates

Technical & Analytics Data

Our systems automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referral source
  • Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)

4. Third-Party Services

Anthropic (Claude API)

We send eulogy subjects and context to Anthropic's API to generate content. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy and may use it for model improvement (non-personally identifiable).

Supabase (Database)

Your account data, eulogies, and usage information are stored on Supabase's PostgreSQL servers. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant and implements enterprise-grade security.

Stripe (Payments)

Payment information is processed securely by Stripe. We never store credit card numbers. Stripe retains payment details according to their privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance.

ElevenLabs (Text-to-Speech)

If you use audio eulogy features, we send generated text to ElevenLabs for voice synthesis. ElevenLabs processes this according to their privacy policy.

Vercel (Hosting)

Our website is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel processes logs, analytics, and technical data according to their privacy policy.

5. Your Privacy Rights

GDPR Rights (EU/EEA Users)

If you are an EU/EEA resident, you have the right to:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")

6. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Free Tier Users: Data retained for 7 days after account creation or inactivity
  • Paid Tier Users: Data retained for the duration of your subscription, then 30 days
  • After Deletion Request: Data deleted within 30 days (except where legally required to retain)
  • Usage Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized data retained indefinitely
  • Legal/Tax Records: Retained for 7 years per tax compliance requirements

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • AES-256 encryption for data at rest
  • Secure password hashing using bcrypt
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • Limited employee access to personal data
  • Database backups encrypted and stored separately

While we strive for security, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute protection. You use our service at your own risk.

8. Children's Privacy

Eulogize This is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data and terminate the account immediately. Parents or guardians who believe we have collected a child's information should contact privacy@eulogizethis.com.

We use cookies in the following categories:

Essential Cookies

Required for authentication and security. Examples: session tokens, CSRF protection. These cannot be disabled.

Functional Cookies

Remember your preferences (language, theme, saved eulogies). Non-essential but enhance experience.

Understand how users interact with our site. Used by Vercel Analytics. You can opt-out at any time.

Marketing Cookies

Track conversions and show relevant ads. Only set with explicit consent.

Your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws different from your country. By using Eulogize This, you consent to such transfers and processing. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, Binding Corporate Rules, etc.).

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
